Our client is one of the most active software M&A advisory firms in the world. Consistently outperforming larger platforms on deal volume, the firm has built an exceptional reputation in the US technology market and is now accelerating its European growth strategy with an additional Managing Director hire in London.
The platform
This is not a firm building a European presence from scratch. Three MDs are already operating across Europe with established relationships spanning financial sponsors, growth equity investors and strategic buyers across the software ecosystem. The London team benefits from full integration with the US platform - one of the deepest networks in global software M&A and is supported by a dedicated BD function and proprietary market research and whitepaper capabilities that differentiate the firm in client conversations.
The opportunity
The firm is looking for an established fee-generator to join as Managing Director in London. Coverage can span any software vertical - enterprise software, SaaS, vertical software, infrastructure software, cybersecurity, fintech or data and analytics and the firm is open on background provided the candidate brings a credible book of relationships across PE sponsors and/or strategic buyers active in the European software market.
This is a pure origination and senior advisory role. The infrastructure, deal support and market intelligence are already in place - what the firm needs is a senior operator who can walk in and start generating mandates.
Compensation
The structure is transparent and highly competitive:
- $300,000 draw against compensation
- Average 46% payout on transactions - no black box, no ambiguity
For an MD generating meaningful deal flow, the earnings potential significantly exceeds what most comparable platforms offer.
What we're looking for
- An established MD or equivalent with a demonstrable track record of originating and closing software M&A mandates in Europe
- Strong existing relationships with PE sponsors and/or strategic acquirers active in the European software market
- Sector coverage across any software vertical - generalist software coverage welcome
- Entrepreneurial mindset
