THE ROLE

We’re looking for a design-led Product Owner to own the design system and user experience for our App and Web products end to end, from concept and user research through to a build-ready, developer-friendly handoff.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role with significant creative ownership and real influence over how Monument Technology’s products look, feel and function from day one. You’ll act as the bridge between design intent and engineering reality: systemising, translating and validating so that every design can be picked up by developers without ambiguity.

You do not need to be a front-end developer; the engineering teams are there to build. This role is there to design, systemise and translate. Day to day you’ll work closely with Product Owners, front-end developers and the wider product team, with an occasional requirement to support broader Monument Technology branding and template consistency outside the core product.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Own the design system and user experience for App and Web end to end, from concept and user research through to a build-ready, developer-friendly handoff.
• Manage the full design system – component libraries, tokens, patterns, documentation and version control – keeping it a living, versioned product rather than a static file.
• Translate design intent into clear, unambiguous requirements that developers can build from without back-and-forth, acting as the trusted bridge between design and engineering.
• Run user testing and concept testing, and validate prototypes before engineering time is committed, ensuring feedback loops actually change what gets built.
• Apply meticulous attention to detail, catching small inconsistencies in padding, spacing, alignment and component states before they reach engineering.
• Present original ideas and creative concepts to stakeholders with confidence, explaining and defending design decisions with clear reasoning.
• Take direct ownership of the design backlog and integrate fully into sprint planning, resolving ambiguity for developers rather than leaving them to guess.
• Deliver a design system audit, an established version control process, and component documentation for the areas in scope, driving a measurable reduction in design-related rework during development.
• Support broader Monument Technology branding and template consistency on an occasional basis, outside the core product.

WE LOOK FOR PEOPLE WITH

• A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience as a Product Owner, UX/Product Designer or Design Lead for a customer-facing App and/or Web product is essential, with strong hands-on expertise in Figma or an equivalent design tool.
