About the role
As a Relationship Support Analyst, you’ll support Relationship Managers (RMs) in building and strengthening client relationships by anticipating needs, preparing high-quality analysis, and coordinating credit activity. You’ll help ensure customers receive fair outcomes while maintaining strong risk discipline. When the RM is unavailable, you’ll act as a focal point for the relationship, products, and services.
What you’ll do
- Support RMs to maximise the value of client relationships, improve engagement, and deliver needs-based solutions and fair customer outcomes
- Enable proactive client management by attending client meetings where required and acting as a first point of contact for daily credit-related enquiries
- Produce analysis, proposals, and presentations for existing and prospective customers
- Coordinate day-to-day relationship activity: client planning, documentation, product partner engagement, and timely updates to data/call reports
- Undertake financial, credit, and profitability analysis and draft credit application remarks
- Coordinate credit applications/renewals and manage risk escalations as required
- Support the financial crime risk agenda, including monitoring and escalation for AML/Sanctions alerts and Global Standards-related concerns
- Prepare deal forum papers and pricing support (including Omnia returns calculator)
- Monitor the deal pipeline on behalf of the Relationship Director
- Liaise with third parties (e.g., external lawyers, valuers) to support transaction delivery
- Monitor credit risk via concern lists, credit control reports, and management information
- Ensure adherence to Group Policy and regulatory, legal, and financial standards to minimise reputational and business risk
- Demonstrate HSBC principles of Treating Customers Fairly
What you’ll bring
Knowledge & qualifications
- Working knowledge (or ability to learn quickly) of bank systems such as Browser Main Menu, CARM, HORIS, OMNIA, Document Viewer, plus Excel, Word, Outlook
- Awareness of operational risk standards and policy compliance
- Basic understanding of financial accounts and the ability to interpret and assess credit risk
- Understanding of business types/structures and relevant product/facility knowledge for the segment
- Understanding of HSBC credit risk appetite as it relates to the segment
- Understanding of Financial Crime Risk policies
