Support Worker - Adult Supported Living & Residential

We are seeking Support Workers to join our team in Doune, near Stirling. We have two separate services within the same grounds - our 20-bed residential service and our smaller Supported Living service. 

Whilst fully embracing the company ethos support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.

Hours: Full-time and Part-time.

Job type: Permanent, variable hourly roles available.

• You will need to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of our team.
• Experience of challenging behaviour and/or learning disabilities is preferred but all training will be provided.
• This position is for two of our services in a rural area near Doune, close to Stirling. There are local bus routes, although holding a valid UK licence would be desirable but not essential. 

• Our 20-bed residential service provides 3 individual and independent suites, accommodating up to 6 people in each. Do you want to make a real difference in someone’s life when you come to work, working as part of a supportive, person-centred team? Come and work with us at Deanston House.

• We are also able to offer an exciting opportunity in 3 brand new, purpose built, individual flats in a Supported Living Service to join the team that will provide person centred support for three individuals looking to move on in their journey towards maximizing their independence. We are looking for experienced staff who are excited at the prospect of helping the people we support to mould and shape their service from the outset.

•  Whichever role you choose, you will be supported by a management structure that will include a Team Leader, Scheme Manager and the Registered Manager who will all be committed to creating an environment for you in which you will feel supported, encouraged and inspired to deliver the best support you are capable of on a daily basis.

The role

• To provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
• Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
• Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
• General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as, possibly, elements of personal care.
• As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.

Due to location, holding a valid UK driving licence is preferable though not essential.

We have 2 Services located in Doune, near Stirling, supporting young adults who have a primary diagnosis of a learning disability and may also have mental health or autism support needs and behaviours that can challenge. Our Services are led by the Registered Manager's who has a wealth of experience within the sector; committed and devoted to developing excellence and talent.
