About the role

Salary: £32,073 per annum pro rata

Hours: 20 hours per week

Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2028

Location: Remote working with site attendance as required

This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to support local GP practices and neighbourhood initiatives by transforming complex healthcare data into meaningful information that drives decision-making, service improvement, and population health management.

Working closely with North Kerrier Neighbourhood colleagues, you will help identify patient cohorts, analyse trends, support compliance requirements, and provide actionable insights that contribute to improving outcomes for local communities.

  • Experience of working in an IT healthcare working environment using clinical systems.
  • Significant experience of using reporting applications for example SQL, PowerBI, dashboards.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 and associated Applications for example, Forms, Visio, excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in the use of clinical systems, workforce management systems and using information technology, to extract data and use reporting tools.
  • Significant knowledge and expertise to lead on specific projects related to IT systems, data and information reporting solutions and business systems.
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy with a high standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Significant experience and ability to analyse data and present information to PCN Business Manager, PCN Executive Team and external organisations and stakeholders.
  • Desirable

    • Experience of working in a primary care network or GP practice.
    • Knowledge of the Primary Care DES Contracts.
    • Knowledge of the NHS Long Term Plan.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Relevant IT qualifications or equivalent experience (such as CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL), and understanding of remote access tools and IT systems.

    • An ability to assimilate complex information and extract and present relevant information effectively into reports and dashboards.

    • Ability to provide clear advice and training instruction on a variety of systems to various individuals or groups who may have limited IT knowledge and understanding.

    About the Role

    As a Data Assistant, you will be responsible for North Kerrier Neighbourhood's data requirements. You will extract, reconcile, validate, cleanse, and maintain data from local clinical systems, ensuring information is accurate, auditable, and accessible.

    You will play a key role in supporting population health management initiatives and addressing health inequalities by enabling clinicians and managers to better understand local needs through high-quality data analysis and reporting.

    This role requires someone who can communicate complex information clearly, presenting data in a visual and easily understandable format to support strategic and operational decision-making.

    As this is a new position, duties and responsibilities are expected to evolve over time and will be reviewed to meet the changing needs of the neighbourhood landscape.
