Privacy policy
Last updated: 9 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data Hunt UK Visa Sponsors collects about you, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
Most of our readers are moving countries and reading about their own immigration status. We have tried to write this in plain English rather than the usual wall of legal text. Where we say "we", we mean the company named below.
The short version
- You can search jobs and sponsors without an account. Browsing isn't tied to your name.
- We don't sell your personal data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
- Our analytics don't store your IP address. We keep the country it came from and throw the rest away.
- We never see your card details. Stripe handles payment.
- Whatever you put in the ILR tracker stays out of ads and analytics.
- Employers get view counts for their own page. They can't see who you are.
- No automated decisions about you. Sponsor scores are ours to publish and yours to judge.
- In the UK and EU, anything beyond the cookies that keep you signed in waits until you agree. You can change your mind from the footer.
Who we are
Hunt UK Visa Sponsors (huntukvisasponsors.com) is operated by LOKOSOKO LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (no. 17108378). Our registered office address is on the terms page.
LOKOSOKO LTD is the data controller for the personal data described here. That means we decide what is collected and why, and we are who you hold responsible for it. For anything on this page, including any of the requests below, write to hello@huntukvisasponsors.com.
What we collect
If you only browse
You can use most of the site without an account. Even then, we record a small amount of data:
- A session identifier, stored in a cookie, so pages work and rate limits apply fairly.
- Which pages and companies you looked at, the country your request came from, the site that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link (
utm_sourceand similar).
We do not store your IP address in our analytics. The country is worked out at the moment of the request and only the country is kept.
If you create an account
Accounts are created through Google. When you sign in, Google passes us:
- your name,
- your email address,
- your Google profile picture.
We never see or receive your Google password.
What you do with the account
- Jobs and companies you bookmark, and roles you mark as applied.
- Job alerts you set up, including the keywords, locations and filters in them.
- Reviews, company detail suggestions and company claims you submit. There is a longer note on reviews below.
- Push notification subscriptions, if you turn them on.
- API keys and how many API credits you have used.
- Which pages and companies you look at while signed in. Signed out, the same events are recorded against a session rather than an account.
Reviews
Reviews are the one thing here meant to be published, so read this bit before you write one.
If you submit one, you can attach your role, your nationality, the visa route you came on, whether the sponsor covered your fees, and a link to your LinkedIn profile. All of it appears with the review, next to the display name you chose. Your nationality can indicate your ethnic origin, and a LinkedIn link identifies you outright, so treat both as public the moment you add them.
Two separate things have to be true before anything appears:
- you ticked the box consenting to publication, and
- we approved the review. Every submission is held for review first.
The employer's name appears only if you separately allowed that. Without it the review publishes with the company unnamed.
Withdraw consent or ask us to remove a published review at any time and we will take it down. Anything search engines or other readers already copied is beyond our reach. That is the usual limit of any takedown, and we would rather say so than imply we can undo it.
The ILR tracker
If you use the ILR tracker, the dates and absences you enter are saved against your account so you can come back to them. This is information about your immigration history, so we treat it as sensitive and never use it for advertising or analytics. If you create a share link, anyone holding that link can see the tracker you shared until you remove it.
Chat
If you use the chat assistant, your questions and our answers are stored so the conversation has history, and are sent to a third-party model provider to generate the reply (see below).
We do not use your chat messages to train models and we do not sell them. We route them through OpenRouter, which passes them to whichever provider serves the model. What that provider then does is governed by its own terms, not ours. We are not going to promise on their behalf that your messages are never retained or used for training.
So, a practical request: keep passport numbers, visa reference numbers, case numbers and dates of birth out of chat. The assistant does not need them, and this is the one part of the site where your words leave our control.
If you subscribe
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer reference, which plan you are on, and your subscription and checkout history.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
UK GDPR requires us to name a legal basis for each use. Ours are:
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Run your account, bookmarks, alerts and the ILR tracker | Performance of a contract with you |
| Take payment and keep billing records | Contract, and legal obligation for tax records |
| Send job alert emails and digests | Contract. You asked for the alert, and every email carries an unsubscribe link |
| Send push notifications | Consent. Your browser asks first, and you can revoke it at any time |
| Measure traffic, fix errors and keep the site up | Legitimate interests in running and improving a service you chose to use |
| Show ads and set advertising cookies | Consent in the UK, EEA and Switzerland, collected by the message described below; legitimate interests elsewhere |
| Set analytics cookies | Consent in the UK, EEA and Switzerland; legitimate interests elsewhere |
| Show employers statistics about their own company page | Legitimate interests. Employers can see how their own profile performs |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed our interest against your privacy. You can object to any of it using the contact address above.
Cookies
We set a small number of first-party cookies. None of them are used for advertising.
| Cookie | What it does |
|---|---|
session | Keeps you signed in |
_huvs_sid | Anonymous session identifier for analytics and rate limiting |
huvs.acq | Records which campaign or link brought you to the site |
oauth.state, oauth.redirect | Security during Google sign-in, deleted immediately afterwards |
Third parties listed below set their own cookies. Your browser settings can block all of these, and the site will still work. You may just have to sign in again more often.
Asking your consent
If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, a consent message appears the first time you visit, asking whether advertising and measurement partners may store information on your device. It is Google's certified consent platform, and your answer is what actually decides whether those cookies get set.
Until you answer, and if you say no, Google Analytics runs without cookies. It still counts the visit, but it cannot recognise your device.
You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Art. 7(3) says withdrawing has to be as easy as agreeing, so it is, and it takes effect immediately. That link is part of Google's consent platform and only appears where the platform loads. Paid plans are ad-free and do not load it, so there, clearing the cookies in your browser is what withdraws consent.
Outside those countries no message is shown and analytics cookies are set by default. You can still block them in your browser.
Simple Analytics sets no cookies at all, anywhere.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We never have and we do not intend to. We do use other companies to run the service, and they process data on our behalf:
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google (sign-in) | Your sign-in request | To authenticate you |
| Google AdSense | Browsing signals, via their own cookies | To show and measure ads |
| Google Analytics | Page views and device information | Traffic measurement |
| Simple Analytics | Page views, without cookies | Traffic measurement |
| Stripe | Your name, email and payment details | To take payment |
| OpenRouter and the model providers behind it (including Anthropic, OpenAI and Cohere) | The text of your chat messages | To generate chat replies |
| Email delivery | Your email address and the message | To send alerts and digests |
| Error tracking (self-hosted on our own servers) | Technical error details, which can include your user ID | To find and fix bugs |
Employers who subscribe can see statistics about their own company page: view counts, referring sites, and visitor countries. The numbers are aggregated. An employer cannot see your name, your email, or that you in particular looked at their page.
We will also disclose data if the law requires it, for example a valid court order.
Where your data goes
Our servers are in the UK and the EU. Some of the providers above are based in the United States. Where data leaves the UK, it is transferred under the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which are the safeguards UK GDPR requires.
How long we keep it
Account data and chat history last as long as your account does, plus a short grace period so a deletion you regret can be undone. Billing records we keep for six years, because tax law says so. Analytics events are recorded against your account while you are signed in, and we keep them indefinitely. The daily totals we build from them are aggregated and not linked to you.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you,
- correct anything that is wrong,
- delete your account and everything in it,
- object to or restrict how we use it,
- take your data elsewhere in a portable format,
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is what we relied on.
There is no button for any of this yet, which is a gap we own. Email hello@huntukvisasponsors.com and we will action it within one month, as the law requires. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or call them on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first, but you do not have to.
Children
This site is for people looking for work and is not intended for under-16s. We do not knowingly collect data about children. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
Automated decisions
We do not make any decision about you by automated means that has a legal or similarly significant effect. Sponsor scores, hiring likelihood and job matching are our reading of public data. What you do with them is yours.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell account holders by email.
One thing this policy is not
This is a privacy policy, not immigration advice. Nothing on this site is legal advice. For that, consult a solicitor regulated by the SRA, or an adviser regulated by the OISC.
