SOC 2433 (80% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £55,100, and SCOTTISHPOWER (SCPL) LIMITED is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
This could also be SOC 2133 (IT business analysts, architects and systems designers, Technical data engineering and BI tooling focus could fit IT systems design) or SOC 2161 (Research and development (r&d) managers, Managing the data team and insights could be analytics manager). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.

Are you ready to shape the future of performance reporting and insight across Customer Service? As Data Scientist at ScottishPower, you'll manage a talented team delivering reliable reporting, data insights and evidence-based recommendations that drive measurable improvement across the Directorate. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with strategic thinking, providing the single source of truth that enables better outcomes, improved customer experiences and operational excellence. You'll work at the intersection of data and action, translating complex information into clear recommendations that influence senior stakeholders and deliver tangible results. If you're passionate about using data to make a real difference, this role offers the platform to innovate and drive meaningful change.
You'll manage the Customer Service data team, setting priorities, coordinating workload and developing capability across your team. Your focus will be delivering accurate, timely and meaningful reporting and insight that provides a reliable view of performance across Customer Service, enabling operational control, customer outcomes, regulatory obligations and strategic planning.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across Customer Service and wider business functions, you'll act as a key adviser, ensuring reporting and insight translate directly into action. You'll design and develop intuitive dashboards, scorecards and KPI reporting using modern tools, ensuring outputs are focused on the outcomes they enable.
Providing oversight for regulatory, executive and external reporting is a key accountability. You'll maintain clear definitions, ownership and controls, ensuring performance information is accurate, consistent and reliable. As the technical specialist, you'll set standards across reporting and business intelligence, establishing quality assurance methodologies and acting as the escalation point for complex issues.
You'll interrogate complex datasets to identify trends, root causes, risks and opportunities, converting findings into evidence-based recommendations that improve customer outcomes and operational efficiency. During major incidents, storms and business-critical events, you'll coordinate the provision of timely support, ensuring senior staff have access to clear, accurate real-time information for effective planning.
Representing Performance, Reporting & Insight on high-profile and business-critical projects, you'll define data and reporting requirements early, test assumptions and embed data-informed thinking throughout delivery. You'll drive innovation by promoting modern reporting approaches, automation and effective data visualisation, reducing manual effort while maintaining governance and control.
You'll bring significant experience in a senior data, reporting, business intelligence or insight role, with proven capability managing people, projects or complex workstreams. Your track record demonstrates your ability to manage a data team, set priorities, coordinate demand, assure quality and develop others effectively.
Your advanced capability enables you to interrogate complex datasets, identify trends and root causes, and translate evidence into clear recommendations. You possess expert Excel skills and strong experience developing dashboards, visualisations and reporting solutions using Tableau, Power BI or comparable tools. Practical experience of data querying, transformation and automation using tools such as SQL, Power Query, R or Python is essential.
You have a strong grasp of data structures, KPI design, reporting methodologies, data quality and governance, with the judgement to apply proportionate controls. Your business partnering skills are demonstrable, with the ability to grasp operational, customer and regulatory context rather than work with data in isolation.
Experience presenting complex findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders is essential, as is your ability to influence outcomes through concise, evidence-based communication. You have a track record of using reporting and insight to improve performance, customer outcomes or operational efficiency, including measuring whether changes delivered the expected benefit.
A degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, completes your profile.
As well as an attractive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
