SOC 3132 (95% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £41,700, and Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
At OQC, we aren't just theorising about the future; we're building it. Born from a philosophy of bold innovation, we've successfully transitioned quantum computing from an academic dream into a commercial reality.
The most exciting thing is that we're just getting started and we've recently closed our £260 million Series C funding round - the largest fundraise ever completed by a quantum computing company in Europe.
The PurposeAs an IT Support Engineer, you'll help keep OQC's technology estate reliable, secure and ready to scale.
You'll provide hands-on 1st and 2nd line support, contribute to more complex 3rd line issues, and make sure our teams have the technology, systems and support they need to do their best work.
This is an opportunity to go beyond ticket resolution: you'll help improve how IT operates, strengthen our processes and contribute to the technology foundations of a growing quantum computing business.
The RoleReporting to the Head of IT, you'll take ownership of IT support across a varied environment spanning Windows, macOS, Linux, cloud platforms, networks and end-user hardware.
You'll work closely with colleagues across IT and the wider organisation, managing issues through their full lifecycle while contributing to security, compliance, service improvement and cross-functional projects. You'll also have opportunities to build your technical depth by collaborating with 3rd line specialists and working with emerging technologies.
What You'll Be Working OnYou will join a world-class team at the forefront of the next computational era. We offer a culture of bold innovation, the chance to work with unique lab infrastructure, and the opportunity to see your work redefine the limits of computation.

Not necessarily. Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.
The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 3132 going rate of £41,700. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
