The Role:
We are looking for a Production Technician to join our Assembly team at our Salisbury manufacturing facility. The team is responsible for assembling Flowplant high-pressure pumps, pumping systems and associated equipment in a low-volume, high-value engineering environment.
The successful candidate will work from engineering drawings, bills of materials and quality control procedures to assemble products safely, accurately and to the required standard. The role requires a practical, organised individual who takes pride in the quality of their work and is willing to support continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assemble pumps, sub-assemblies and other large items of capital equipment.
· Work from engineering drawings, bills of materials, work instructions and quality control procedures.
· Prepare components and sub-assemblies ready for final assembly.
· Complete in-process checks and production documentation accurately.
· Ensure finished work meets Flowplant quality standards and any customer-specific requirements.
· Use hand tools, workshop equipment and lifting aids safely and correctly.
· Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workplace.
· Identify and report quality, material or assembly issues promptly.
· Support continuous improvement activities within the Assembly and wider Production teams.
· Assist with other reasonable production and workshop duties as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
· Previous experience in an industrial, engineering, manufacturing or mechanical assembly environment.
· Good practical and mechanical skills, with a careful and methodical approach to work.
· The ability to understand and follow engineering drawings, work instructions and quality procedures.
· An understanding of good engineering practice and importance of product quality.
· Strong attention to detail and consistently high standards of workmanship.
· A proactive, organised and self-motivated approach.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
· A willingness to learn, develop product knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement.
· The flexibility to support changing production priorities and customer requirements.
· Relevant engineering qualifications or an apprenticeship would be advantageous, but are not essential.
· A current UK driving licence would be advantageous, but is not essential.
· A forklift truck licence would be useful, but is not essential.
Location:
Flowplant manufacturing facility, Salisbury, Wiltshire.
Salary Package:
£TBC basic salary + pension
23 days holiday per annum plus statutory holidays, rising to 25 days after five years' service.
Free on-site parking.
Working Hours:
39 hours per week: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.00 pm on Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break.
