Relationship Manager (Mid Market)

As a Relationship Director, you’ll take end-to-end accountability for a portfolio of Mid-Market Enterprise customers, managing sales, service, risk, and operational delivery across both domestic and international relationships. You’ll act as a strategic partner to clients—understanding their goals, identifying needs, and connecting them to the right HSBC solutions—while maintaining a strong risk and control mindset and delivering fair outcomes.

What you’ll do

• Build and execute a business growth strategy, identifying high-potential prospects and expanding your portfolio
• Develop trusted relationships with clients and prospects, positioning HSBC as a strategic partner
• Use your commercial credibility and internal network to deliver needs-based solutions
• Drive revenue growth by identifying customer needs and taking a solutions-focused approach to new business opportunities
• Protect the bank’s reputation and maintain an acceptable risk profile through robust credit assessment and customer due diligence
• Proactively manage financial crime risk across the client lifecycle: identify, assess, monitor, escalate, and mitigate risks
• Collaborate closely with product partners to support domestic and international client needs
• Manage time, priorities, and available support resources to increase the quality and frequency of client engagement
• Stay current on HSBC and competitor offerings and broader market developments
• Escalate and share relevant client information to ensure the wider coverage team has a comprehensive understanding of client risk
• Role holders may need to gain deeper knowledge of a product area and, in some geographies, hold relevant certificates or regulatory membership

Knowledge & qualifications

• Experience in a client-facing role, ideally within financial services
• Strong understanding of business types and structures, and relevant product/facility knowledge for the segment
