SOC 2421 (80% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £49,200, and McLaren Racing is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.

This could also be SOC 2422 (Finance and investment analysts and advisers, Focus on financial analysis and insight could fit finance analyst) or SOC 1131 (Financial managers and directors, Budgeting and financial planning leadership could be managerial). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.

Strategic tip: apply early

Sponsored roles fill quickly, and the ones that name a salary go quickest. If this one looks right, apply in the first few days rather than saving it for the weekend.

About the role

At McLaren Racing, we’re driven to win, inspire our people, excite our fans, and deliver for our partners - while continuously pushing our sport, industry and technology forward.

Job Description

Purpose of the Role

Performance on and off the track is driven by smart decisions. As Finance Business Partner – Business Performance, you will bring financial insight to the functions that help drive McLaren Racing’s culture, people performance, environment, business operations and finance activities.

Working closely with Directors, Heads of Function and budget owners, you will build robust financial plans, provide meaningful analysis and challenge, and help stakeholders make confident, value-focused decisions. This is an opportunity to influence business performance in a fast-paced, high-performing environment while developing trusted partnerships across the organisation.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Business Performance functions, providing clear financial insight on results, trends, risks and opportunities to support decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning activities, challenging assumptions and helping stakeholders achieve their objectives.
  • Evaluate projects, investments and cost drivers, ensuring decisions are commercially sound and deliver value.
  • Support compliance with Formula One Financial Regulations, maintain effective budgetary controls, and contribute to accurate month-end reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement by enhancing reporting, planning tools, financial processes and the overall quality of business insight.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualified or newly qualified, with a strong foundation in financial planning, analysis and reporting.
  • Strong Excel and digital skills, with experience of data analysis and reporting tools; Power BI experience is advantageous.
  • The ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical recommendations for a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capability, attention to detail and sound judgement when interpreting data, risks and regulations.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work in a fast-moving environment.

  • Personal Attributes

    • Collaborative and relationship-focused, with the ability to build credibility and influence across different teams and levels of seniority.
    • Curious and commercially minded, able to look beyond the numbers and connect financial performance to business outcomes.
    • Confident in asking questions and providing constructive challenge to support better decision-making.
    • Adaptable and resilient, remaining effective as priorities evolve and business needs change.
    • Proactive, enthusiastic and committed to continuous learning, improvement and high performance.

    Additional Information

    About sponsorship for this role

Does this job guarantee visa sponsorship?

Not necessarily. McLaren Racing holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.

What salary is needed for this role to be eligible?

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2421 going rate of £49,200. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
