Head of Human Resources

I am working exclusively with an ambitious public sector organisation who are looking to appoint a Head of People on a permanent basis. This is a newly created leadership opportunity that will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's people strategy during an exciting period of growth and transformation. The organisation has just over 100 employees and a small HR team of three. The organisation is located in East London, next to a number of excellent transport links.

As Head of Human Resources, you will lead on all aspects of the people agenda, embedding values and principles across the organisation while providing strategic and operational HR leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking to make a genuine impact within a growing organisation.

The Head of Human Resources role offers a salary of circa £70,000, operates on a hybrid basis with an average of 1-2 days per week in the office. The position manages two direct reports, consisting of an HR Business Partner and HR Officer.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Developing and delivering a people strategy aligned to organisational objectives and future growth plans.
• Partnering with senior leaders to drive workforce planning, organisational design and culture change initiatives.
• Leading employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion programmes to create a positive employee experience.
• Overseeing recruitment, onboarding, talent management and succession planning activities across the organisation.
• Providing expert advice on complex employee relations matters, ensuring fairness, consistency and compliance.
• Leading the delivery of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and embedding inclusive practices throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Developing reward, recognition and performance frameworks that support engagement and accountability.

This opportunity would suit an experienced HR leader with a strong track record of developing and implementing people strategies within a complex or regulated environment. You will possess excellent knowledge of UK employment legislation, significant experience in organisational development and culture change, and the ability to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders. A CIPD Level 7 qualification, or equivalent, is essential, whilst experience within the public sector or a similarly regulated environment would be highly advantageous.
