Salary: £130-140k + Bonus + Benefits

Location: Fully Remote (UK / European Union)

Newly created role with a major UK brand building out their internal, cloud-native (AWS) Platform capability – a platform that will allow the Engineering and Development teams to operate at more speed with less friction; whilst helping the business to achieve its objectives and encourage creativity.

They are looking for a senior level Platform Manager who can understand the needs of the Development and Engineering teams, building a platform for them that allows them to operate at the highest levels of speed, quality and security; in turn creating a platform which acts as a business enabler, not hindrance.

Whilst this role is far more leadership and change management focused, you will be building and implementing the platform and framework on which Dev teams will be working on - a background in Software Development or leading highly technical Software Dev/Engineering teams will therefore be highly advantageous so you understand their challenges and needs. The platform is only as successful as its adoption and this needs to be at the forefront of the successful candidates mind.

You'll be embedded right across the business, working hand in hand with Security, IT, HR, Product, Engineering and business leaders, continually driving the change management needed to enable the business to move faster and more creatively. It's a genuinely rare opportunity to shape a platform function from the ground up, with full backing from the CISO and Head of Platform Engineering to introduce new tooling, ways of working and drive real business change.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the internal Platform function, giving the business the tools to make faster, more creative decisions and giving engineering teams the tooling and infrastructure they need to do their jobs effectively

Key Requirements

• A software engineering background, with genuine credibility talking to and working alongside development teams
• Experience leading a Platform function, ideally within a cloud-native (AWS) environment
• Strong change management experience, with a track record of bringing teams onto new platforms and ways of working
• Comfortable operating at a strategic level, understanding technical detail without needing to be hands-on day to day
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across both business and technical audiences
