Product Owner
London - Hybrid Working
Contract: Fixed Term Contract - 12-18 months
Hours: 35 hours
We are leading a bold and transformative journey - and we're looking for a Product Owner on an 18 month FTC, to join our flagship technology system transformation programme within our Retail B2B2C business. This is a Product Owner in title, but a genuine product management role in substance. We are looking for someone to own customer and business outcomes end-to-end, not just the backlog.
As a Product Owner you will take real ownership of a product area - setting the vision, shaping the strategy, and being accountable for the outcomes you deliver. You will work closely with the Business Lead (Retail Product Director) and a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders, partnering day-to-day with engineering teams, solution architects, product designers, operations, distribution, and risk & compliance to discover, prioritise and deliver a roadmap that moves meaningful business and customer metrics.
This role is about solving difficult problems for our customers, advisers and business. We are looking for someone who leads product discovery, makes evidence-based trade-offs, and connects the product to the wider Retail B2B2C strategy.
If you have experience owning products or propositions in B2B2C digital businesses, or leading product in complex transformation programmes, thrive in solving big, ambiguous challenges, and want to be involved in a major technology overhaul - we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the outcome, not just the output - take end-to-end accountability for the value and viability of your product area, defining the business and customer outcomes and KPIs you will move.
Experience in B2B2C digital propositions and/or leading product within complex transformation programmes, ideally in a regulated environment (financial services an advantage). Strong product strategy skills - able to set a vision, size opportunities, and build a prioritised roadmap that ladders up to business strategy. Strong customer insight - comfortable talking directly to customers and advisers, running discovery, and combining qualitative and quantitative evidence to make decisions. Fluency with data - able to define success metrics, interrogate product and commercial performance, and translate analysis into action. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills - able to lead through influence across cross-functional teams and senior leaders, and to make and defend difficult trade-offs. Commercially minded, outcome-oriented and comfortable with ambiguity; thrives on solving big problems and creating disruptive customer propositions. Degree or professional equivalent, or significant experience in a similar role. Resilient and able to adapt, working hands-on when required; highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to plan, manage and prioritise your own workload to see a job through to conclusion.
