SOC 2482 (80% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £48,200, and Specsavers Optical Superstores Limited is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
This could also be SOC 2136 (IT quality and testing professionals, Quality Engineering focus in IT could place it in IT quality and testing) or SOC 1139 (Functional managers and directors not elsewhere classified., Strategic leadership and governance role could be a functional director). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.
Are you passionate about shaping how Quality Engineering is delivered across a global technology organisation?
We're looking for a QE Governance & Engagement Lead to play a pivotal role in defining and driving Quality Engineering across Specsavers. This is a high-impact position where you'll influence how quality is governed, measured, and embedded across our technology landscape, ensuring quality becomes a competitive advantage rather than simply a delivery checkpoint.
We're looking for someone with deep Quality Engineering expertise who can combine technical credibility with strategic leadership. You'll be responsible for defining and evolving our global Quality Framework, setting the standards, policies, governance models, and best practices that underpin quality delivery across programmes, products, and major transformation initiatives.
You'll work at the centre of our Quality transformation, partnering with senior leaders, Value Streams, delivery teams, regions, and third-party suppliers to ensure quality is built into delivery from the outset. You'll drive the adoption of modern Quality Engineering practices, champion automation and reusable test assets, and create consistent and scalable approaches that improve delivery quality, productivity, and speed to value.
A key part of this role will be governing and overseeing our global QE managed service. You'll hold delivery partners accountable for quality outcomes, service performance, commercial value, and continuous improvement across some of the most important technology and transformation programmes in the business. You'll use data, metrics, and reporting to provide meaningful insight into quality performance, risks, trends, and opportunities, helping senior leaders make informed decisions.
We're looking for someone who brings significant experience within Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Testing Leadership, or Technology Governance. You'll have a proven track record of implementing quality frameworks and governance models, driving transformation and continuous improvement, and influencing senior stakeholders across both technology and business functions. Experience managing suppliers, establishing standards, and driving organisational change is essential.
Most importantly, you'll be a trusted advisor. Someone who can build strong relationships, challenge constructively, and bring people on the journey towards a quality-first culture. You'll combine strong commercial awareness with a passion for governance, assurance, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement.
If you're excited by the opportunity to define how Quality Engineering operates across a global organisation, influence major transformation programmes, and drive lasting improvements in quality, governance, and delivery effectiveness, we'd love to hear from you.
Join us as QE Governance & Engagement Lead and help shape the future of Quality at Specsavers.
