Institutional Outreach Officer - Next Steps South West
This part-time post is available immediately on a fixed term basis until 31 August 2027. The role is based in our Penryn Campus in Cornwall and will be involved in outreach activities across the county. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus/in school and some from home. We may offer flexibility to concentrate working hours during term time.
Salary will be £28,589, (pro rata) on Grade C subject to knowledge, skills and experience.
Please note this role is subject to a DBS check. At the University of Exeter, we are committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We expect all our staff to share this commitment.
The Role
A proactive and enthusiastic individual is required to join the Next Steps South West (NSSW) Project. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the delivery of outreach activities to secondary school and Further Education college students through a collaborative project of key stakeholders, comprising universities and Higher Education (HE) colleges in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. NSSW is part of the national Uni Connect project and is funded by the Office for Students (OfS) to encourage awareness of, and access to, Higher Education for identified individuals from target groups in schools where progression to HE is low.
The role holder will liaise with colleagues across NSSW and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This post is based at the University of Exeter, and will have strategic guidance and reporting requirements from the central NSSW team based at Plymouth University and in the satellite County offices.
Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
