SOC 2464 is an eligible occupation, but we are only 46% sure that is the right code. Nudge Education Limited is a licensed sponsor, so if the code fits, the role should qualify. Check the occupation eligibility rules against what the job actually involves.
Worth checking: this could also be SOC 3221 (Youth and community workers), which is not on the eligible-occupation list. Ask Nudge Education Limited what the duties actually are.
About the role
Around 90,000 young people across the UK are persistently absent from education each year. At Nudge Education, we support children and young people who are disengaged from education through tailored mentoring and interventions that help them reconnect, rebuild confidence, and thrive.
About The Role
We are looking for compassionate and adaptable practitioners to deliver personalised 1:1 support to young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs.
This is a community-based role, working beyond traditional classrooms to create safe, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences.
You Will
- Deliver tailored intervention sessions
- Build positive and consistent relationships with young people
- Monitor progress and report safeguarding concerns
- Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate records
- Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and regional teams
You may come from education, youth work, healthcare, social care, coaching, uniformed services, or other people-focused backgrounds.
We value empathy, resilience, creativity, and the ability to build trust with vulnerable young people.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
- Experience supporting ASD, ADHD and OCD
- Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to commit to a minimum of three days’ availability per week to provide consistency for our young people
- Willingness to obtain business car insurance prior to commencing the role
- Flexible opportunities based on location and student match
- £16.48 -£25.75 per hour for lead roles, plus agreed expenses
We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce. Due to the specific needs of some young people, there may be occasions where we recruit practitioners of a particular gender where this is a lawful Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010.
Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to safer recruitment checks, including enhanced DBS and compliance vetting.
If you’re passionate about changing lives and supporting young people to re-engage with education, we’d love to hear from you.

Does this job guarantee visa sponsorship?
Not necessarily. Nudge Education Limited holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.
What salary is needed for this role to be eligible?
The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2464 going rate of £41,700. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
