SOC 3571 (85% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £41,700, and Mondrian Alpha is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
This could also be SOC 1136 (Human resource managers and directors, Owns rewards strategy and drives processes, but not main people-management role) or SOC 3544 (Data analysts, Heavy data and modelling focus, but compensation is the core function). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.
Our client, a global hedge fund expanding its presence in Europe, is looking to hire a Compensation Specialist to be based in the firm’s London office.
Reporting to the Global Head of Rewards and supported by a well-structured HR team, the hire will step into a newly created role taking ownership of rewards, compensation and benefits operations and strategic delivery across the firm’s European coverage. As the firm grows, one of the hire’s first priorities will be to own, drive and centralise cyclical processes, working closely with HR Business Partners on performance reviews, bonus structures and appraisals. The hire will provide strategic solutions and expert advice to multiple stakeholders; combining in-depth knowledge of total reward principles, understanding of the business needs, market and regulatory landscape, and associated detailed analysis & models. Example BAU responsibilities include the design, delivery and management of compensation frameworks / providing in-depth knowledge of key financial performance metrics and driving improvements in internal modelling capabilities. The hire will act as the SME on total reward plans, working to track buy-side peers and make improvements to internal package structures to remain competitive and drive reverse benchmarking research to boost attractiveness. The hire will also play a key role in the initiative to make HR a more data driven and quantitative function.
The ideal candidate will have 2 – 5 years of experience as a Compensation Specialist / Total reward Specialist with experience supporting employees at all levels (Junior to C-Suite) at a leading hedge fund, investment bank or private equity firm. The firm operates with a very flat structure, so they are looking for a professional that is comfortable taking a hands-on approach whilst also being able to step back and take a more strategic lens when needed. This is a business-critical hire and the firm is ideally looking for a professional that is looking to take on more responsibility and autonomy / to step-up.
The hire will pay up to a £100k base salary and a large % bonus component. The firm has fantastic benefits and they will provide a sign on bonus to ensure that the hire is not walking away from any year-end rewards.

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 3571 going rate of £41,700. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
