We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of our Ashfield Care service. This is an exciting opportunity which combines leadership responsibilities and helping to deliver high-quality, person-centred services that make a real difference to people's lives.

As Deputy Manager, you will lead and support care teams to ensure services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with agreed care plans, quality standards, policies, and procedures.

Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in managing staff performance, service delivery, resources, and safeguarding responsibilities, whilst maintaining a strong focus on the wellbeing and independence of the people we support.

Essential

• Management and supervision of a Care team working a specific period of the day or evening.
• Staff Management.
• Appreciation of the basic skills of performance management i.e. setting objectives and standards, performance appraisal.
• Identifying and meeting staff development and training needs.
• Recruitment, selection and induction of staff.
• Planning and organising service for new service users.

Desirable

• Business planning.
• Budget Management and Financial Administration.

Managing within Service Level Agreement framework.

Managing within a Quality Standards framework.

Qualifications

Essential

• A level 3 qualification in Care, Promoting Independence.

Desirable

• A final level professional qualification e.g. DipSW, CQSW, CSS, RGN, DipOT, NVQ4 or 5 equivalents.
• A management qualification NVQ 4 or equivalent e.g. CMS, DMS

Experience

Essential

• Working knowledge of current best practice in the social care of older people and adults in relation to Care Quality Commission requirements.
• Proven experience in social care or a related discipline.

Desirable

• Working knowledge of current developments in the organisation and provision of social care for older people and adults.
• Working knowledge of current management best practice.
• Working knowledge of the legal framework relating to service delivery decisions in the social care of older people and adults
