Salary: £33,000–£38,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: Central York
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
Working Arrangement: Office-based with free parking

About the RoleWe are a Chartered Financial Planning firm looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Paraplanner to join our team at our head office in central York.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least two years' paraplanning experience who is looking to further develop their technical knowledge and build a long-term career in financial planning.
You will work closely with our Chartered Financial Planners and alongside a highly experienced Senior Paraplanner who is a Chartered Fellow, providing an excellent opportunity for mentoring, professional development and career progression.
We are looking for someone who enjoys technical research, writing suitability reports and contributing to high-quality financial planning advice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical paraplanning support to Chartered Financial Planners.
- Research and analyse pensions, investments and other financial planning products.
- Prepare accurate, well-structured suitability reports and financial planning recommendations.
- Review clients' existing financial arrangements and identify suitable planning solutions.
- Undertake pension and investment comparisons, including provider and fund research.
- Assist with retirement planning, pension drawdown, investment planning and inheritance tax planning.
- Prepare cashflow forecasts, technical calculations and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with Financial Planners, providers and colleagues to progress client cases.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure work meets FCA compliance requirements.
Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Paraplanner role.
- Experience undertaking financial product research and writing suitability reports.
- Good technical knowledge of pensions, investments and financial planning.
- Strong analytical, written communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of FCA compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Experience using financial planning research tools and back-office systems.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
Professional Qualifications:
You must hold, or be working towards, the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or an equivalent recognised qualification).
Candidates who are still studying must have successfully completed some examination units towards the Diploma.
