About the role
The successful candidate will lead testing and equipment qualification projects across a range of engineering applications. This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise with project leadership in a dynamic testing environment.
Key Deliverables:- Lead testing and equipment qualification projects from tender through to completion.
- Design and develop bespoke test rigs and test setups.
- Manage project safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Specify instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Analyse test data and produce technical reports.
- Lead project kick-offs, toolbox talks, and stakeholder engagement.
- To produce Test and Equipment Qualificationtechnical tenders which meet our customers requirements, having clear capture strategies and which can be delivered safely on time and to budget.
- Project Lead on Test and Equipment Qualification contracts ensuring that all technical and project requirements are suitably managed, addressed and delivered in a safe manner and within budget.
- To lead project kick off meetings, Safe Setting to work Toolbox talks and oversight of project activates carried out by other Asset Management functions.
- To provide expertise in the field of Testing and Equipment Qualification in support of the Department’s activities.
- To interpret client project requirements and specify test rig set-up, instrumentation and data acquisition needs to fulfil contractual agreements.
- To carry out concept design and subsequent calculations on bespoke test rigs fabricated within the department to carry out component testing contracts.
- To project manage allocated TEQ projects to safe on time and on budget completion.
- Assist with the negotiation of and capturing of any contractual variations to the original defined work scope.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
- BEng (2:1 Hons) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and structural design.
- Experience delivering engineering projects and producing technical documentation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of testing, instrumentation, and data acquisition is desirable.
