We’re growing and looking for a BMS Panel Designer / Estimator who enjoys both technical design and commercial thinking, and wants to play a key role in delivering projects end-to-end.

What you’ll be doing

In this dual role, you’ll bridge design and delivery - turning concepts into accurate, build-ready solutions.

• Design BMS control panels using AutoCAD / electrical CAD tools

• Create schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts to industry standards

• Produce accurate estimates and bills of materials, including labour and components

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement to define scope and mitigate risks

• Liaise with suppliers to source components, pricing, and lead times

• Prepare complete build packs for the workshop (drawings, BOMs, instructions)

• Support manufacturing with technical queries and test requirements

• Identify opportunities to standardise designs, reduce costs, and improve efficiency

• Attend site visits and client meetings when needed

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is technically strong but also commercially aware

Essential:

• Experience in control panel or BMS design AND/OR estimating

• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, PLC I/O

• Experience using AutoCAD or similar electrical CAD software

• Ability to produce accurate costings and technical documentation

• Organised and able to manage multiple projects/quotes at once

Desirable:

• Experience with EPLAN or similar panel design software

• Background in automation, controls, or building management systems

• Knowledge of electrical standards and panel compliance

• Supplier engagement / procurement experience
