SOC 3556 is an eligible occupation, but we are only 48% sure that is the right code. Rullion is a licensed sponsor, so if the code fits, the role should qualify. Check the occupation eligibility rules against what the job actually involves.
We pick the code from the advert's text, so it is our best guess, not the employer's. Each code it could be has its own likelihood:
New graduate or PhD holder? Pick one of the lower rates.
| Occupation code | New entrant 70% of going rate | STEM PhD 80% of going rate | Relevant PhD 90% of going rate | Standard rate 100% of going rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|

3552 Business sales executives Also possible | £33,400 Clears | £41,700 Clears | £41,700 Clears | £41,700 Clears |
We use the lowest threshold across the plausible codes. Likelihood is Possible at most when the pay clears only a lower rate, or only under a less likely code. A mark is for the top of the advertised pay. How the Home Office picks the code
Job title: Account Based Business Development Manager
Job Type: Permanent
Start date: ASAP
Salary: Up to £55,000 Per Annum + Performance-related bonus + Benefits
Location: Remote – UK Based
Hours of work: 40 Hours Per Week
The Role:
We’re looking for someone to help us open doors into some of the UK’s largest critical infrastructure organisations. This isn’t a traditional SDR role. We have a defined list of around 50 target organisations and senior people we want to build relationships with.
Your job will be to understand those businesses, research the people we’re targeting, identify the right signals and reasons to engage, and turn that intelligence into conversations.
You’ll use LinkedIn, email, phone, events, content, AI and whatever else works.
The first objective is straightforward: Create high-quality meetings between our target customers and Rullion’s senior team. From there, you’ll help us build the relationship, maintain relevance and develop the account until the right commercial opportunity emerges.
You could come from B2B SaaS, technology, professional services, account-based marketing, business development, executive search, recruitment or another complex B2B environment.
What matters is that you are curious, commercially minded, good at research and very good at finding a way to get the attention of difficult-to-reach people.
About Rullion
Rullion is a workforce solutions business focused on the UK’s critical infrastructure sectors, including energy, nuclear, utilities and transport.
If you enjoy understanding a company, finding the right people and figuring out how to get a conversation started, we’d like to hear from you.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Researching organisations and senior decision makers in depth
• Spotting signals that create a reason to engage
• Writing thoughtful, personalised outreach
• Using LinkedIn, email and phone
• Building relationships over time rather than looking only for immediate opportunities
• Using AI and modern sales and marketing technology intelligently
• Working independently and taking ownership of a defined group of accounts
How the role works
This is a remote role and we’re flexible on location for the right person.
You’ll work closely with Rullion’s senior team, including our CEO and commercial leadership.
It is also deliberately not a high-commission sales role.
The package is weighted towards base salary, with a modest performance-related bonus. It should suit someone who values predictable earnings and wants to focus on doing high-quality work over the longer term.

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 3556 going rate of £55,200. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
