SOC 2132 (75% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £55,000, and Tesco Mobile is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
In 2025, Tesco Mobile assigned 6 or more Certificates of Sponsorship for SOC 2132 jobs, according to the Home Office.
This could also be SOC 2440 (Business and financial project management professionals, Focus on standards, ways of working and business outcomes could fit project management) or SOC 2134 (Programmers and software development professionals, Hands-on squad work and digital expertise could be software development). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.
New graduate or PhD holder? Pick one of the lower rates.
| Occupation code | New entrant 70% of going rate | STEM PhD 80% of going rate | Relevant PhD 90% of going rate | Standard rate 100% of going rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
2132 IT managers Most likely code | £38,500 | £44,000 | £49,500 | £55,000 |
2440 Business and financial project management professionals Also possible | £39,500 | £45,200 | £50,800 | £56,500 |
2134 Programmers and software development professionals Also possible | £38,300 | £43,700 | £49,200 | £54,700 |
We use the lowest threshold across the plausible codes. Likelihood is Possible at most when the pay clears only a lower rate, or only under a less likely code. How the Home Office picks the code
As a Chapter Lead, you'll focus more on how we work than what we deliver. You'll lead, inspire and develop colleagues within your chapter, ensuring they are deployed to the right squads to maximise both customer outcomes and colleague growth. As a servant leader, you'll foster a culture of learning, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, while supporting hiring, onboarding and capability development.
You'll also remain hands-on in a squad, applying and developing your own expertise while acting as a recognised leader in your craft across Tesco Mobile.
Importantly, as our capability continues to grow and mature, the scope of this role may evolve over time. While the chapter currently spans a broad range of disciplines, future growth may lead to greater specialisation, with Chapter Leads focusing on a more defined area of expertise while increasing their depth of mastery, leadership and influence within that discipline.
As a Chapter Lead, you will play a leading role in building and evolving world-class capabilities across Tesco Mobile. You will define standards and ways of working that enable teams to deliver customer-led, data-driven outcomes, while supporting the continued growth, development and success of colleagues within your chapter.

Browse more sponsored jobs at Tesco MobileNot necessarily. Tesco Mobile holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. In 2025, Tesco Mobile assigned 6 or more Certificates of Sponsorship for SOC 2132 jobs, according to the Home Office. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.
The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2132 going rate of £55,000. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
