We’re Hiring: Chartered Building Surveyor
Build Warranty | Structural Warranty / Latent Defects Insurance | South East UK
Build Warranty is continuing to grow and we are looking to recruit an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join our technical team, covering the South East of the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor who wants to work within a forward-thinking structural warranty provider that combines robust technical auditing, professional claim assessment, modern technology, efficient processes and a high-quality client experience.
At Build Warranty, our role is to support developers, contractors, homeowners, lenders and insurers by providing clear, consistent and professional technical auditing throughout the construction process, together with fair and technically robust assessment of claims where issues arise.
Our approach is built around strong technical standards, practical risk management and our proprietary LDI Tech platform, which has been developed to streamline the warranty process for clients, surveyors, underwriters, insurers and other stakeholders.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking and overseeing technical audits on residential and mixed-use developments across the South East, ensuring that construction works are reviewed in accordance with Build Warranty’s technical requirements, insurer expectations and recognised industry standards.
A key part of the role will be reviewing inspection reports submitted by the Build Warranty surveyor team, assessing technical findings, managing points of attention and liaising with clients, developers and site teams to ensure matters are clearly understood, appropriately addressed and closed out in a timely manner.
The role will also involve supporting the assessment of claims under structural warranty policies, including reviewing reported defects, assessing technical cause, considering policy response, preparing professional reports and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
You will work closely with developers, contractors, site teams, homeowners, surveyors, underwriters, insurers and our internal technical team to help identify risk areas early, provide clear reporting and support the delivery of high-quality completed developments.
Key Responsibilities
About You
We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and a practical understanding of residential construction, defects and remedial works.
Ideally, you will have:
Experience within structural warranty, latent defects insurance, building control, residential development, high-rise residential, technical risk auditing or property claims assessment would be highly advantageous.
Why Join Build Warranty?
Build Warranty is not a traditional warranty provider. We are investing heavily in technology, operational efficiency and technical transparency to improve how structural warranties are delivered across the UK market.
You will be joining a growing business with ambitious plans, a strong technical platform and a clear focus on raising standards across the sector.
This is a role for someone who wants to be more than just a site inspector. You will be part of a technical team helping to shape standards, improve processes and support a more transparent and efficient approach to structural warranty delivery.
Package
Competitive package depending on experience, expected to include:
Basic salary: £55,000 – £70,000
plus additional package benefits, which may include:
The overall package value will therefore be higher than the basic salary and will be structured to reflect the successful candidate’s experience, technical capability and sector knowledge.
Senior candidates with strong structural warranty, building control, claim assessment or technical audit experience will also be considered.
Location
South East UK, with regular site travel required. Hybrid working available depending on location and business requirements.
How to Apply
If you are a Chartered Building Surveyor based in the South East and looking for a new opportunity in a growing, technology-led structural warranty business, we would be pleased to hear from you.
