About the role
The role of Senior Practitioner Psychologist in Community Urgent Care Pathways (Home Treatment Team and Mental Health Liaison) offers opportunities to work across clinical severity and a range of settings. This the first post to offer a pathway view across these teams and aims to support residents and teams have a more seamless experience of care.
The post holder will provide high quality psychological care for those in crisis, as well as those who are experiencing a mental health need in the context of a physical health condition.
The role requires working across mental health and physical health multidisciplinary teams, being able to hold holistic care as the goal in supporting client needs. This role requires excellent communication skills to liaise with teams both in the acute and community setting in order to support smooth transitions.

Education/ Qualifications/ Knowledge
Essential
- Professional qualification in the form of a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
- HCPC Registered
- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration
- Experience of working in adult mental health and with complex and serious mental health problems
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS
Desirable
- Experience of working in psychosis services
Skills/Experience
Essential
- Experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist for a minimum of two years (or if less an application would be welcomed from a band 7 looking for the opportunity to complete their preceptorship before moving up to an 8a.)
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in-patient settings
