Anyone can use the standard rate, but the pay clears it only if the Home Office classes the job as SOC 3112. We think SOC 2123 is more likely, and the pay is too low for that code. If you are a new entrant or a PhD holder, you can use a lower rate, and the pay clears the new entrant rate for SOC 2123. On the jobs board, Standard and the new entrant rate both show roles like this as Possible at most. The advertised pay goes up to £54,855.
We pick the code from the advert's text, so it is our best guess, not the employer's. Each code it could be has its own likelihood:

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2123 going rate of £58,700. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
