The advert says the job needs UK security clearance:
“This role requires you to be a sole British National and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats.”
SC clearance usually needs five years of living in the UK, and DV clearance usually needs ten. If you have lived here that long, for example on a Student and then a Graduate visa, you may be able to get it. Most people applying from outside the UK cannot, so the highest likelihood we give this job is Unlikely. Ask Thales UK Limited whether they would sponsor you.

SOC 2124 is an eligible occupation, but we are only 43% sure that is the right code. Thales UK Limited is a licensed sponsor, so if the code fits, the role should qualify. Check the occupation eligibility rules against what the job actually involves.
We pick the code from the advert's text, so it is our best guess, not the employer's. Each code it could be has its own likelihood:
New graduate or PhD holder? Pick one of the lower rates.
| Occupation code | New entrant 70% of going rate | STEM PhD 80% of going rate | Relevant PhD 90% of going rate | Standard rate 100% of going rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
2124 Electronics engineers Most likely code | £36,400 | £41,600 | £46,800 | £52,000 |
2134 Programmers and software development professionals Also possible | £38,300 | £43,700 | £49,200 | £54,700 |
We use the lowest threshold across the plausible codes. Likelihood is Possible at most when the pay clears only a lower rate, or only under a less likely code. How the Home Office picks the code

Embedded Systems & Integration Engineer - UAS
Reading, Bristol, Crawley ideally, but flexible on location
Thales Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) UK is a principal supplier of Electronic Warfare (EW), Radar and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) equipment to the UK armed forces, as well as an exporter of these capabilities worldwide.
We’re recruiting for an experienced Embedded Systems / Software Integration Engineer to develop and integrate software for an edge-computing system based around NVIDIA Jetson.
The role will involve integrating a range of hardware and software components into an existing system, including digital cameras, IMUs, GNSS, SSD storage and other peripheral devices. Responsible for ensuring that these devices operate reliably with the Jetson platform and that their data is correctly delivered into existing C++ processing and algorithm software.
A significant element of the role will be the integration of new and alternative hardware into an existing system. This may include, for example, moving an existing Jetson application onto a new carrier board, integrating different cameras or sensors, adapting interfaces and drivers, and reconfiguring the software and operating system to accommodate changes in the underlying hardware, developing software interface specifications
The role therefore requires someone who is comfortable working across the boundary between hardware and software, rather than someone focused solely on application-level software development.
There will be travel involved so the successful individual should be prepared to travel to Ukraine (all training and briefings will be provided)
Key Responsibilities
Jetson / Embedded Linux

Key skills and experience required
The successful candidate should be comfortable working from hardware documentation, schematics, interface specifications and manufacturer documentation rather than relying solely on pre-existing software abstractions.
