About the role
Goodman Masson are working with a globally recognised youth-focused charity to appoint a Head of Finance.
As the Head of Finance, you will lead all aspects of financial management, accounting, reporting, and control, working in close partnership with senior leaders to align financial strategy with business direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Business Partnering: Act as the senior finance business partner to income-generating teams (Fundraising and Retail), embedding financial insight into revenue strategy, campaign planning, and commercial decision-making.
- Financial Leadership & Governance: Oversee overall accounting, budgeting, multi-year financial planning, cash flow forecasting, and balance sheet forecasting.
- Board & Committee Advisory: Provide expert advice and guidance to the Executive Director of Resources, the Board of Trustees, and the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee on strategic financial matters and fiduciary accountability.
- Team & Payroll Management: Lead and develop a finance team of around 9 staff-including the Payroll Manager-ensuring efficient accounting services, robust payroll delivery, and continuous professional growth.
- Statutory Compliance & Specialist Areas: Ensure statutory accounts, taxation returns (Corporation Tax, Gift Aid, VAT including partial exemption, PAYE), and regulatory submissions are completed accurately and on time.
- Digital Transformation: Champion continuous improvement, digital transformation, and strong data governance across financial systems, controls, and reporting.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications: Fully Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or equivalent.
- Experience: Senior management experience (e.g., Head of Finance or Financial Controller) leading finance and accounting within a charity setting.
Salary: £80,000 per annum.
Location: Central London based with hybrid flexible working.
