About the Role
Following an internal promotion, we are seeking a Modaxo Europe Portfolio Accountant. You will be key member of the Modaxo Europe and ASIA Portfolio Team and will work closely with the Portfolio Reporting Controller and Portfolio CFO Europe & ASIA.You will report to the Portfolio Reporting Controller and manage a Trainee Portfolio Accountant.About the roleThe team is responsible for ensuring all Financial Reporting required by the Group (Constellation Software Inc. – listed on the Toronto stock exchange) is provided accurately and timely.Modaxo Europe consists of over 20 Business Units across Europe, AMEA and the Americas - from the UK and France, to the Nordics, Germany to Israel, Africa and South-East Asia as well as North and South America.This is a hybrid role (expectation is to be in the office at least one day per week), the team is based in the Chippenham - UKWe offer career progression within Modaxo and we would expect the postholder to be promoted to a more senior role either in a Business Unit or the Group/Portfolio structure within 2-3 years.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, annual reporting and consolidation processes with focus on accurate and timely reporting (in a company owned by a publicly listed Company)
Qualifications
- You are is a certified/chartered accountant, with at least 3 years’ experience, potentially having worked for one of the Big 4 accounting companies or in a similar role in corporate accountin
Required Skills
- Very strong accounting skills particularly on IFRS, including revenue recognition
- Enjoys and is enthusiastic about technical accounting and ensuring correct accounting treatment is applied
- Preferably comes with experience with Risk management and Audits
- Thrives in working to meet demanding reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment and is very hands-on
- Strong Excel skills and keen to learn and use new systems (particularly Netsuite)
- Fluent in English. Language skills in German or any other European languages is an advantage, however not a requirement
- Like fast changing environment, which provides challenges and great opportunities for future growth
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with an engaging personality, allowing you to clearly specify what you need and persuade a dispersed team to provide timely and high-quality responses
- High energy level and like to set high standards for yourself and the people around
- Motivated to seek new knowledge and enjoys continuous learning and knowledge sharing
- Positive, curious, humble and above all eager to learn and provide value to the finance community in the Portfolio

- Flexible and adaptable with ability to work flexible hours
Practical
- Travel opportunities to other business units (for peer reviews) both in the UK and internationally, as well as expected attendance at European Finance summits (total travel away from home estimated 2-3 times per year for several days at a time)
- Workplace is flexible – this is a hybrid role and we operate in a virtual environment. The expectation is to be in the Chippenham office once per week and more frequently if necessary early on to facilitate a smooth handover
