SOC 2132 (75% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £55,000, and Tesco Technology is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
In 2025, Tesco Technology assigned 6 or more Certificates of Sponsorship for SOC 2132 jobs, according to the Home Office.
This could also be SOC 3556 (Sales accounts and business development managers, Product manager index entry; but description is technical/API focused) or SOC 2432 (Marketing and commercial managers, Search product role could be marketing-oriented). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.
New graduate or PhD holder? Pick one of the lower rates.
| Occupation code | New entrant 70% of going rate | STEM PhD 80% of going rate | Relevant PhD 90% of going rate | Standard rate 100% of going rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
2132 IT managers Most likely code | £38,500 | £44,000 | £49,500 | £55,000 |
3556 Sales accounts and business development managers Also possible | £38,600 | £55,200 | £55,200 | £55,200 |
2432 Marketing and commercial managers Also possible | £35,000 | £40,000 | £45,100 | £50,100 |
We use the lowest threshold across the plausible codes. Likelihood is Possible at most when the pay clears only a lower rate, or only under a less likely code. How the Home Office picks the code
We are looking for an experienced and
data-driven Product Manager to lead the development of our Search
and Browse API capabilities within the Discovery team. This is a
critical role that drives how customers find, explore, and engage with products
across all Tesco markets and propositions. You will play a role in shaping the

intuitive customer experiences that impact key business and customer metrics.
· Lead the evolution of domain-specific APIs, while
thoughtfully deprecating legacy interfaces. Ensure seamless transitions with
minimal disruption to consumers and clearly quantify the value of API
modernization initiatives.
· Identify and champion new opportunities to apply
advanced search and browse capabilities across diverse markets, platforms, and
digital channels. Enhancing the reach and versatility of discovery experiences.

dynamics into a forward-looking product roadmap. Prioritize initiatives that
deliver measurable value, enhance agility, and position the organization for
future growth.
· Work closely with cross-functional teams, including
Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Data Scientists—to execute the
roadmap using agile practices. Facilitate prioritisation, resolve blockers, and
ensure customer-centricity is woven into every feature, sprint, and release.
- Curiosity and comfort working with technical systems — particularly APIs — and the ability to translate that understanding into clear product direction.
- Experience delivering within complex, fast‑moving product domains where multiple initiatives run in parallel.
- Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams, including the ability to engage in technical discussions and shape decisions in an API‑driven environment.

Browse more sponsored jobs at Tesco TechnologyNot necessarily. Tesco Technology holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. In 2025, Tesco Technology assigned 6 or more Certificates of Sponsorship for SOC 2132 jobs, according to the Home Office. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.
The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2132 going rate of £55,000. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
