About the role
Hello. We’re Teya.
Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better.
They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business.
Teya exists to change that.
We’re building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work.
We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.
If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we’d love to hear from you
Your role
As a Staff Engineer and Tech Lead for the ePOS team at Teya, you’ll play a critical role in shaping our product experience that merchants across Europe rely on every day. You’ll lead a small group of engineers, owning technical delivery while staying close to the code and contributing to coding and architecture when needed.
This role blends deep, hands-on technical work with emerging people leadership. You’ll guide your team through complex engineering challenges, mentor and coach engineers through their growth, and foster a culture of technical excellence. You’ll also partner closely with stakeholders across product, engineering and the wider business, and with a strong mobile-focused wider team, to deliver reliable, high-quality features. On a short time, you’ll have a clear path to grow into a people leader.
We’re looking for someone curious, thoughtful and pragmatic: someone who enjoys being hands-on, is excited by the challenge of building products that work in the real world, and wants to grow towards Engineering Management.
