Its workshops house a comprehensive CNC shop, alongside joinery, paint spraying, metalwork, and printing departments. This integrated setup enables ar18 Ltd to provide consistent quality, technical precision, and reliable project delivery for diverse commercial environments.
Role Description The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician will work on-site in Kings Langley in a full-time capacity, supporting the design and production of bespoke retail furniture, display stands, reception desks, and feature walls. Day-to-day tasks include creating detailed CAD drawings, updating and modifying existing designs, and preparing manufacturing-ready plans for CNC machining, joinery, metalwork, and other workshop processes. The role involves collaborating closely with designers, project managers, and workshop teams to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and aligned with client specifications and safety standards. The CAD Technician will also maintain organized digital design files, ensure version control, and assist in resolving technical design issues that arise during production. Attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced workshop environment are essential.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and experience producing detailed technical drawings for manufacturing.
- Skills in Technical Support and Troubleshooting for design-related and basic IT issues within a workshop or office environment.
- Knowledge of Computer Maintenance and Computer Repair sufficient to support reliable use of CAD workstations and related peripherals.
