SOC 2493 (88% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £41,700, and Harrods is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
This could also be SOC 1133 (Public relations and communications directors). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.
New graduate or PhD holder? Pick one of the lower rates.
| Occupation code | New entrant 70% of going rate | STEM PhD 80% of going rate | Relevant PhD 90% of going rate | Standard rate 100% of going rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
2493 Public relations professionals Most likely code | £33,400 | £33,400 | £37,500 | £41,700 |
1133 Public relations and communications directors Also possible | £54,000 | £61,700 | £69,500 | £77,200 |
We use the lowest threshold across the plausible codes. Likelihood is Possible at most when the pay clears only a lower rate, or only under a less likely code. How the Home Office picks the code
We are looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to join our Corporate Affairs team here at Harrods. The Harrods Corporate Affairs team is responsible for all corporate communications (brand guardianship, external corporate communications, and public affairs), as well as consumer PR across Harrods.
This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover position.
About the Role
As Corporate Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the Harrods corporate reputation through the development and delivery of impactful communications campaigns. Working closely with local agency partners, the Harrods PR team, and stakeholders across the business, you will ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to corporate communications across key markets. You will also be a key member of the Crisis Management Team, proactively identifying potential reputational risks, helping to mitigate issues, and supporting the implementation of crisis management procedures when required.
You will lead the delivery of the annual Harrods Path ESG Report, develop key messaging and communication materials for senior leaders, and advise on international corporate affairs activity, including strategy, messaging, and events.
Key responsibilities include campaign strategy and execution, media relations, budget management, stakeholder engagement, industry issue monitoring, and ensuring communications best practice is embedded across the business.
About You
You will have proven experience in corporate communications, with a strong understanding of brand reputation management, corporate media relations, and the development of strategic communications programmes. Confident working with luxury, retail, or consumer-facing brands, you will have experience engaging with high-profile stakeholders and identifying opportunities to enhance brand visibility through creative and impactful campaigns. You will also bring a strong awareness of the UK business, retail, and luxury landscape, with the ability to translate external trends and policy developments into compelling communications strategies.
A collaborative relationship-builder, you will be skilled at working across multiple functions to deliver consistent messaging and build strong relationships with media and industry contacts. You will have experience supporting crisis communications planning and implementation, alongside a sound understanding of international communications and global current affairs. As a credible ambassador for the Harrods brand, you will combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, leading by example while supporting colleagues and driving communications excellence across the business.

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2493 going rate of £41,700. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
