The opportunityIndustrial Construction (Sussex) Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Roofing & Cladding Estimator to join our team in Lewes. We are seeking someone who understands the technical and commercial aspects of industrial and commercial roofing and cladding, and who can take responsibility for tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.
This role would suit an estimator who enjoys working independently, building strong relationships with suppliers and clients, and producing accurate, competitive and commercially sound tenders and is looking to find a role where they have a clear path to progression.
Key responsibilities· Review tender enquiries, construction drawings, specifications and scope documents.
· Undertake material take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates.
· Price industrial and commercial roofing, cladding and associated building-envelope works.
· Obtain, analyse and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
· Build up costs for labour, materials, plant, preliminaries, overheads and margin.
· Identify missing information, technical queries, exclusions and commercial risks.
· Prepare tender submissions, qualifications and clarifications.
· Manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines.
· Liaise with clients, main contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and internal colleagues.
· Support the commercial handover of successful tenders to the project delivery team.
· Maintain accurate tender records and pricing information.
You will have proven experience in construction estimating, ideally within industrial or commercial roofing, cladding or a closely related specialist contracting sector. You should be able to demonstrate that you have personally managed tenders and can confidently interpret drawings and specifications, complete take-offs, build up costs and assess commercial risks.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of:
· Industrial and commercial roofing and cladding systems.
· New-build and refurbishment projects.
· Supplier and subcontractor procurement and quotation analysis.
· Managing tender submissions independently.
· Microsoft Excel and relevant estimating or drawing-measurement software.
You will be organised, commercially aware, detail-oriented and comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders.
