With a focus on collaboration, expertise, and precision, SRG shapes the way organisations manage risk—transforming complexity into opportunity and helping clients achieve outcomes they can rely on.

About The Role

As a Junior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll support the day-to-day operation, maintenance and improvement of our IT infrastructure across the Group. Working closely with Service Desk, Network and Technology colleagues, you'll help deliver reliable services while contributing to infrastructure projects that support SRG's continued growth.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing 2nd/3rd line support for the service desk and acting as an escalation point for technical issues.
  • Supporting Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure and Citrix environments.
  • Assisting with infrastructure projects, system upgrades and service improvements.
  • Maintaining IT systems, software deployments and operational standards.
  • Building effective relationships with third-party technology suppliers and service providers.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, reporting and user guidance.

  • Who we’re looking for

You'll have a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving, with a desire to develop your infrastructure expertise.

    • Experience in a 1st or 2nd line IT support, Service Desk or desktop support role.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
    • Experience troubleshooting desktop, server and hardware-related issues.
    • Understanding of networking concepts including WAN, LAN and connectivity troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with Citrix environments and endpoint management tools.
    • Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders.
    • A relevant Microsoft certification, ITIL Foundation qualification or equivalent experience is advantageous.

    What you’ll get

When you join SRG, you’re stepping into more than just a role, you’re becoming part of a team that backs your ambitions and celebrates your success. We’ll give you the space, support, and opportunities to grow your skills, explore new challenges, and shape a career you’re proud of.

And because we believe great work should be rewarded, here’s what you can look forward to:

    • From 25 days holiday plus an extra half-day off to celebrate your birthday month
    • Company pension scheme to secure your future
    • Private medical cover for peace of mind
    • Life insurance, income protection and sick pay to support you when you need it
    • Charity and volunteering days so you can give back to causes you care about

    What to expect

At SRG, our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive, respectful culture, one where people feel empowered, valued, and equipped for growth. We embrace new ideas, adapt to challenges, and celebrate shared success.

We’re committed to making our recruitment process and workplace accessible to everyone. Just let us know how we can help.

    About sponsorship for this role

Does this job guarantee visa sponsorship?

Not necessarily. Specialist Risk Group holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.

What salary is needed for this role to be eligible?

The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 3132 going rate of £41,700. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
