Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities
We welcome both full time and part time applications and are happy to discuss the working pattern that would suit you.
This is a hybrid role, typically based 60% in our Birmingham office and 40% remotely.
We’re looking for a creative and digitally confident People Communications & Engagement Specialist to help colleagues across RICS feel informed, connected and heard.
Working with the Head of People Communications & Engagement, you’ll turn organisational priorities, People initiatives and colleague insight into clear, engaging communications. You’ll take ownership of communications activity from brief through to evaluation – planning campaigns, creating content, managing internal channels, supporting colleague voice and events, and using insight to improve impact.
You will:
• Plan and deliver internal communications and engagement campaigns from brief through to evaluation.
• Advise and constructively challenge stakeholders, turning complex information into clear, relevant content and recommending the right communications approach.
• Manage and improve channels including SharePoint, colleague newsletters and Viva Engage.
• Create accessible written, visual, video and interactive content.
• Support colleague listening, feedback activity and visible feedback loops.
• Help deliver virtual, hybrid and in person colleague events.
• Use feedback and analytics to improve communications, exploring new technologies and AI tools where they add value.
About You
You’ll be a creative communications professional who is comfortable moving between planning, advice and hands on delivery. You’ll bring sound judgement, curiosity and the confidence to suggest a different approach when it could lead to a better outcome.
You’ll bring:
• Experience in internal communications, employee engagement or a related role, ideally in a complex or geographically dispersed organisation.
• Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex information clear and engaging.
• Experience planning and delivering campaigns or projects and measuring their impact.
• Strong digital and visual communication skills, with the creativity to produce engaging content across different formats and experience managing internal channels.
• The ability to build effective relationships, advise stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
• Good judgement, attention to detail and a collaborative approach, with an interest in people, culture and colleague engagement.
You may also have experience of People or HR communications, organisational change, employee listening, multimedia content or digital design tools, although these are not essential.
