SOC 2136 (85% match) is an eligible occupation, with a going rate of £41,700, and Searchland is a licensed sponsor. That is our reading of the rules. Whether they issue a Certificate of Sponsorship is still their call.
This could also be SOC 2133 (IT business analysts, architects and systems designers, Data engineer focus on pipelines and orchestration could fit) or SOC 3544 (Data analysts, Data quality analyst angle on validation and monitoring). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.

🏢 About Searchland
Searchland is a high-growth, B2B prop-tech company transforming how businesses and individuals access and leverage property data. Our platform empowers property developers, land agents, architects, and planners with real-time insights, helping them make smarter, data-driven decisions when acquiring and developing land.
In just six years, we’ve built one of the UK’s most advanced property data pipelines, integrating thousands of data sources and processing terabytes of information with less than 24-hour latency. Our cutting-edge platform is shaping the future of property intelligence.
💻 About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Data QA Engineer to take ownership of the accuracy, recency and reliability of the data that powers our products. Over the past six years we have built one of the largest property data databases in the UK, across 1000s of different datasets with many different collection techniques, along with internal QA tools.
This role will specialise in taking our QA systems further: hardening the validation and anomaly detection that catches problems before our customers do, keeping our scrapers healthy and resilient as sources change under us, and shipping fast, practical tooling that makes the whole team more effective.
This is a role for someone who loves the "why does this look wrong" puzzle and wants to own and raise an existing quality bar rather than maintain someone else's.
🎯 Responsibilities
- Design and build data quality checks - validation, anomaly detection, freshness and coverage monitoring - across our core data pipelines
- Strong Python and SQL with hands-on experience with dbt and BigQuery
- A track record designing data quality checks - validation, anomaly detection, freshness and coverage monitoring
- Experience running production web scraping at scale - Playwright (or equiv), proxies, anti-bot evasion, and monitoring scraper health
- A fast, pragmatic builder mindset, fluent with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Claude Code)
- Experience with a data orchestrator - Dagster ideally, or Airflow/Prefect
- Comfortable working in TypeScript/Node
- Geospatial data experience (PostGIS, GeoPandas, GDAL)
- GCP experience (GCS, Kubernetes/Docker)
- UK planning or property domain knowledge

About sponsorship for this role
Does this job guarantee visa sponsorship?
Not necessarily. Searchland holds a sponsor licence, but sponsorship for a specific hire is always the employer's decision. Be upfront in your application that you'll require it.
What salary is needed for this role to be eligible?
The offer must clear both the general threshold and the SOC 2136 going rate of £41,700. New-entrant and shortage discounts can lower it.
