Senior Estimator Defence
The advert says the job needs UK security clearance:
“Before applying, due to the sensitive nature of these projects, you must be a SOLE UK National who is able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC).”
SC clearance usually needs five years of living in the UK, and DV clearance usually needs ten. If you have lived here that long, for example on a Student and then a Graduate visa, you may be able to get it. Most people applying from outside the UK cannot, so the highest likelihood we give this job is Unlikely. Ask Turner & Townsend whether they would sponsor you.

SOC 3541 is an eligible occupation, but we are only 57% sure that is the right code. Turner & Townsend is a licensed sponsor, so if the code fits, the role should qualify. Check the occupation eligibility rules against what the job actually involves.
This could also be SOC 2453 (Quantity surveyors). We read the code off the advert, so it is our best guess, not the employer's.
New graduate or PhD holder? Pick one of the lower rates.
What each route needs for this job
| Occupation code | New entrant 70% of going rate | STEM PhD 80% of going rate | Relevant PhD 90% of going rate | Standard rate 100% of going rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
3541 Estimators, valuers and assessors Most likely code | £33,400 | £41,700 | £41,700 | £41,700 |
2453 Quantity surveyors Also possible | £34,100 | £38,900 | £43,800 | £48,600 |
We use the lowest threshold across the plausible codes. Likelihood is Possible at most when the pay clears only a lower rate, or only under a less likely code. How the Home Office picks the code
