The Specification Sales Engineer – Power Distribution is responsible for driving specified demand for Eaton's low voltage and medium voltage power distribution portfolio by influencing design decisions during the earliest stages of construction, infrastructure, industrial and refurbishment projects.
The role focuses on engaging with consulting engineers and end users to ensure Eaton solutions are specified into projects before tender. The Specification Sales Engineer will identify, develop and protect project opportunities whilst positioning Eaton as the preferred technical partner for power distribution and energy resilience solutions.
The successful candidate will develop project pipelines, influence specifications, provide technical guidance and support project conversion from concept design through to project execution.
This role is open to candidate with prior experience in similar roles or to those with a technical background wishing to move into a technically focused sales role.
What You’ll Do
- Build relationships with consulting engineers, building services consultants, contractors, and end users to influence specifications on major projects.
- Growing a strong pipeline of specification opportunities.
- Building trusted relationships across the consultant community.
- Increasing specification conversion and revenue growth.
- Driving adoption of Eaton's power distribution and energy management portfolio.
- Influencing major commercial, industrial, healthcare, data centre, and infrastructure projects.
- HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, OR proven experience within power distribution, switchgear, building services, or technical sales.
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, end users, or specification-led projects.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Knowledge of LV switchgear, switchboards, circuit protection, energy management, or power monitoring solutions.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident presenting technical solutions to engineering and commercial audiences.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to identify opportunities and influence project outcomes.
