Graduate Engineer - Power

Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

At Centrica, we're not just adapting to the future of energy, we're shaping it – and we’re looking for curious minds, fresh perspectives, and ambitious graduates to help us make it happen.

As an Engineering Graduate, you'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects, solve real business challenges, and make an impact from day one. You'll gain hands-on experience, develop the critical skills needed for your future career and build a network that will support you throughout your journey.

Why Engineering?

As one of the UK's largest integrated energy companies, our engineers play a critical role in developing, operating, upgrading, and transforming the infrastructure and technologies that will power the energy transition.

Our Engineering Graduate Programme offers the opportunity to build experience across a diverse portfolio of assets, projects, and technologies, spanning areas such as nuclear, power generation, energy storage, hydrogen, heat networks and other emerging energy solutions. Through a combination of technical and business placements, you'll develop the skills, experience and professional network needed to build a successful engineering career while helping shape a more sustainable energy future.

Along the way, you'll develop skills in engineering design, asset management, project delivery, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and problem solving. You'll gain exposure to the technical, operational, and commercial challenges involved in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions at scale.

Through a combination of hands-on experience, structured development, and diverse placements, you'll build the technical expertise, professional capability and commercial awareness needed to become a future engineering leader at Centrica.

Support to help you thrive

We're looking for potential, not perfection. That's why you'll be supported every step of the way through structured development opportunities, experienced mentors and line managers, dedicated graduate learning, buddy support and a network of graduates from across the business.

With offices across the UK and a hybrid approach to working, flexibility is an important part of our graduate programmes. You’ll need to be open to travel when required and, for some placements, relocation, giving you the opportunity to experience different teams, locations, and parts of our business.
