Role Purpose:
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is seeking an experienced and creative Social Media Manager to lead social media activity that supports our organisational objectives, strengthens our brand presence and engages future generations of engineers.
Reporting into the Communications & Marketing team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering social media activity focused on attracting, engaging and retaining students as they progress through their engineering careers.
You will develop and execute targeted campaigns, create engaging content across multiple platforms, analyse performance data and identify opportunities to enhance ICE's social media presence. You'll also work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure social media activity supports wider marketing and organisational objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop and deliver social media campaigns focused on student recruitment, engagement and progression to graduate membership.
- Create high-quality social-first content, including video, graphics, reels, stories and other digital assets.
- Lead social media activity supporting campaigns, events and key organisational announcements.
Essential Skills & Experience:
You will be an accomplished social media professional with a strong understanding of digital communications, audience engagement and content creation.
- Significant experience managing social media channels and delivering successful digital campaigns.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, audience behaviours and emerging trends.
- Proven ability to create engaging social-first content, including short-form video and visual assets.
- Experience using content creation and editing tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms.
- Strong copywriting, editing and storytelling skills.
- Experience interpreting analytics and translating performance data into actionable insights.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, data protection requirements and digital best practice.
- Confidence working with stakeholders across a complex organisation to deliver shared objectives.
